•September 2004 – Molly Bernstein and Gabrielle Wilkerson-Melnick start CAC at Buckley School’s club fest. 75 kids sign up.
•October 2004 – Lucky Brand Jeans agree to sponsor them and donate 3,000 Pure Life Bracelets.
•December 2004 – CAC raises $3,000 which it donates to it’s first recipient.
•January 2005 – In order to get sponsors for fundraisers, the club is told it must become a non-profit organization. Achieving this takes a full year of filling out paperwork and finding lawyers and accountants who will work for free.
•January 2006 – CAC gets it’s non-profit status and starts organizing it’s first Run/Walk.
•June 2006 – CAC raises $25,000 at it’s first Run/Walk. Its sponsors are Lucky Brand Jeans, Whole Foods and Guess Jeans. It is servicing children at UCLA Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Children’s Hospital and Cedars- Sinai Medical Center.
•January – December 2007 – CAC raises $40,000 with its fundraisers and donations.
